The Story
Special Order Only
This product is a special order item. If you would like this product you need to contact our staff. You will need to order and pay for this item and will take 8-12 weeks to get completed for you.
This is a 2" Tri-Clover Recirculating Infusion Mash System (RIMS). Capable of maintaining a 200L+ free-flowing mash without scorching. Designed to be used with the KegLand 200L 3 Vessel BrewZilla.
This product is to be installed by a trained professional or electrician as it needs to be wired manually or potentially risk warranty.
1. Proper Use & Unattended Operation
The RIMS (Recirculating Infusion Mash System) is an external heating tool located at the base of the unit. It is designed for active circulation during the brewing process.
- Warning: We strictly do not recommend using the RIMS for unattended overnight heating. Automated heating without supervision can lead to dry-firing, equipment damage, or a safety hazard if a leak or pump failure occurs.
2. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
To ensure the longevity of the heating element and the integrity of the sight glass, always follow this specific sequence:
RIMS Startup (ON):
- Open Valves: Ensure all valves in the RIMS pipeline loop are fully open.
- Engage Pump: Turn the pump on first.
- Verify Flow: Visually confirm through the sight glass that the tube is completely full and liquid is flowing steadily.
- Power Heater: Only once flow is confirmed should you turn the RIMS heating element on.
RIMS Shutdown (OFF):
- Power Off: Turn the RIMS heating element off.
- Thermal Cool-Down: The element retains significant residual heat even after power is cut. Keep the pump running for 2 to 4 minutes to circulate liquid and cool the element.
- Power Off Pump: Turn the pump off only after the cool-down period.
- Close Valves: Secure the pipeline valves.
3. Maintenance & Pre-Flight Inspection
The RIMS assembly is designed to be independently removable for deep cleaning and inspection (simply close the two isolation valves to detach the pipe assembly).
- Inspection: Before every use, inspect the sight glass for chips, cracks, or stress marks. Do not operate if any damage is detected.
- Cleaning: The heating element and internal pipe walls must be clean and free of "beer stone" or organic buildup to prevent localized overheating.
- Y-Strainer Maintenance: The BrewZilla 400L includes a pre-installed Y-type filter before the RIMS intake. You must remove and clean this filter before and after every brew session. A clogged filter will reduce flow rates, causing the RIMS to overheat and potentially damaging the element or sight glass.
