The Story
100 Pack of easy to use tablets of Potassium Metabisulfite for sterilising and inhibiting the growth of wild yeast and bacteria that can spoil wine. It is also commonly used to remove chlorine from water for brewing.
Potassium MetabisulfiteĀ has many actions including inhibiting the growth of bacteria, acting as an anti-oxidant (oxygen scavenger) preventing wine and must from oxidation and solubilises phenolics found in grape skins.
Usage Instructions:
- Use 1-2 tablets per 5L of must
- Racking - 1/2 to 1 tablet per 5L of wine
- Crush or dissolve in a little warm water before adding to wine or must
- 50ppm Sulfur dioxide when 1 tablet added to 5 litres.
- To remove chlorine from brewing water - use 1 tablet per 100L
