Eclipse Wheat Malt (also known as Midnight Wheat) is a bitterless black malt which can be considered the blackest colour malt but also provides the smoothest flavour for a black grain. It is the best way to add a smooth very subtle roast coffee note while adding a dark brown/black colour to your beer with the accompanying bitterness.
Perfect for use in higher proportions to make your black IPAs, Porters and Stouts Blacker; adjusting colour your Belgian Ales and Milds and addinng depth to your Schwarzbiers.

Eclipse Wheat Malt can be used in place of Roasted Barley when you are looking for similar colour characteristics without the dark espresso character or potential astrigency which can result from the use of very dark barley malts.
Eclipse wheat is huskless and hence will not carry bitterness through to your final beer.
This makes it perfect for use in higher proportions to make your black IPAs, Porters and Stouts Blacker; adjusting colour your Belgian Ales and Milds and addinng depth to your Schwarzbiers.
The subtle and smooth flavour means Eclipse Wheat is suited for a much broader range of applications than other roast malts or chocolate malts. Including bringing darkness to uncommon styles like Lagers, Wits and Saisons.
Suggested Usage Rate:
1-2% for little to no flavour contribution and minor colour adjustment
2-6% to add more colour with a very smooth roaster coffee and chocolate notes
7-10% for more definitive colour adjustment with a velvety-smooth subtle roast character
